There's a storm in my teacup!

Well, in my dollar store mug.

Parapluie? Phooey!
It was a very grey day today. Because of that, I stopped just as I was about to leave, and grabbed the umbrella Mum bought me as an early Christmas present. As I got down the road the rain began to pelt down and I felt quite glad about my decision, and I hid on a bridge to get the umbrella out of my bag. One part of the umbrella seemed damaged, the mechanism at the top of the stick part, to keep the umbrella fabric taut, wasn't working. Anyway, I popped the umbrella up, but due to a gust of wind and this damage, the top sector of the umbrella, with the fabric, just popped off and drifted over the bridge and down the river.

This left me with a stick used to hold an umbrella, and nothing else. Still, I wasn't going to throw the stick away and I thought I may as well try to get some entertainment out of getting soaked. So I walked to the shop, with the stick in my hand, as if the most important part of the umbrella was there and working properly. A lady walked past me and her eyes widened as we passed, and I could tell she was very much worried for my sanity.

Well, what was I going to do? Thrash the lady with the stick in anger? Throw it into the water and litter? I had to hold the stick, so why not hold it like that? :)

Aww, thank you!

(By the way, I don't know if I'm saying thank you that I got the first reply, or that I'm considered cuckoo).

I thoroughly approve of your decision. When in a bad situation, do something that'll make people think you're mad as an anteater.

Mmm. Life's too short to take it seriously.
