There's a storm in my teacup!

Well, in my dollar store mug.

The more you know...
Grumble grumble.
I am currently completing the original Zelda just to make an icon.

Status: complete. To be honest, it was a fun little project. Forcing myself to play a game for a few hours just to get a few frames from it, followed by having to resize parts of the area, re-animating the fire and moving the text around to make it icon-sized. A worthy challenge!

Other news of the day: I bought front-centre tickets for Jerry Springer the Opera today, I got myself a Haagen-Dazs milkshake from the restaurant in London, I finally went to the touristy bits of London (due to not wanting to get onto the humid and cramped trains) and organised everything that needs to be done regarding looking after Nan's dogs while she does what she has to.

I even have a friend visiting at noon tomorrow. I feel so popular all of a sudden! I'd better sleep else I'm going to be a rubbish host.

It's all done bar the uploadin'.

That thing makes me nostalgic. In my day, we had two frames of animation and we liked it that way. None of this polygonal cel-shading crap.

I find it amusing my icons are starting to become a compendium of games through the ages.

Next stop: TEH BARRELZ from Sonic 3, maybe.

I didn't. I must admit, I used a Game Shark to keep infinite bombs. You need so many bombs to get anywhere on the original game.

I also went about it completely the wrong way.

First, I thought the character was from level 7, he wasn't. So I found he was from level 6. Which was fine, except I got the level maps mixed up so I thought I needed a raft to get there.

However, you do need a ladder to get to Grumble Grumble, which I thought was obtainable from Level 2. Nope, it's in Level 3.

And then I found him, and was happy.

You realize that the very first cave has fire, as well as most of the letters you need. A shop would fill in the rest of the letters, I think. Then it's just a matter of either taking a picture of a regular Moblin or finding a "It's a secret to everybody" cave.

Or is that missing out on the spirit of the thing?

Well, there's the whole demanding of the exact way the character appeared, and said his line.

I mean, I could have found the fire tile, flipped it, found the Moblin and found the font, but come on, if you're going to do it, do it properly.

Besides, lets me reminisce over the whole game.
