There's a storm in my teacup!

Well, in my dollar store mug.

How to be impartial.
Jamie worked with me today. In working with me, she managed to break the packaging of some sweets - which meant we couldn't sell them. As a result of damaging the stock, she felt that she had to buy these sweets for herself.

But she doesn't like these sweets. She offered them to me, but I don't like them either. So as we started to shut the shop up, we left the sweets next to a notepad and wrote down:

These are for everyone.

Just as she was about to pay for them, a co-worker walked in, and was happy to pay for these sweets for himself. As a result, the message on the notepad changed.

These are for everyoneNOT FOR YOU

With the reason for this message sold, I wonder if this is going to confuse the staff that'll open up the shop tomorrow.

Why didn't the co-worker just take them home?
