There's a storm in my teacup!

Well, in my dollar store mug.

Website Design 101
I've been asked by Ramon to look into constructing a website for him. I feel this is quite daunting, given I've never tried something like this beyond being given space to throw things up on back with Freeserve.

But let's see... these days, there's the acquiring of a domain name to do - where would you recommend?
Next... webspace itself. Not much to do here, just a few pictures in a simple and clean gallery.

I don't really know anything about showing stuff off. It's been so long since I even considered the idea. Last I knew Geocities was around and popular for this, but it doesn't seem like it's entirely professional. Or should I even go in that direction given that this isn't anything that'll end up high-traffic, is simple all that's needed right now?

I don't know. I really have my little spots of the computing world I enjoy and shirk away from the rest of it. Advice would be appreciated.

(And then in a few weeks time I'll be asking for ideas on HTML, heh)

For registering the domain godaddy.com and use coupon dltv for 10% off.

Use godaddy.com for the domain name and hosting... The company is awesome, and CHEAP!

Ah, two people beat me to it. Definitely use godaddy. I've been with them for five years now and no complaints. I'm not sure how their web hosting is. My host is Canaca.com, but they're a bit expensive for what you want to do. But if ever the person gets really big and needs a ton of bandwidth, I would highly recommend them.
