There was a nice evening meal on the night of the 16th. Steph and Jamie came with me to the local dive-bar-greasy-spoon, the 5 Point Cafe, and enjoyed a very good meal as our first major bit of celebrating. Steph and I also shared another treat last night: we both decided to buy a pair of cherry red Doc Martens.
I also have to get new work shoes - well, I always associate black leathery shoes to be work shoes, but I've been told our store dress code may be made less formal, meaning I may get to buy black tennis shoes for work. That'd be kind of nice.
Finally, a Rite Aid is closing today here in downtown Seattle - everything that's left is significantly discounted - I'm going to get what random junk they have going cheap there. Also got to get a small parcel shipped out as well. And that's about it for the money. I'm quite happy with what I'll have gotten with this - I don't think I've wasted what I had to enjoy. Once the shoes show up I'll be feeling more optimistic about surviving another relatively cold and wet Washington winter.
It's back to the simple life for me, now that the visa's out of the way. I'm not expecting to have anything arrive in the mail this week for my green card, but I'm going to remain patient and calm and not worry about that. It's part of the reason why I wanted to spend - at least I'd be happy to have other things arrive in the mail for me.
